We will begin recruiting a new class of GITs (Gallery Instructors in Training) in January of 2012, and the selection process will take place in the spring of 2012. GITs will then have the opportunity to learn their way around the Museum, meet experienced GIs, follow tours, and become more familiar with the GI program. Initial training will begin in September of 2012, and new GIs will begin leading tours in early 2013.
Requirements:
• Mandatory attendance at initial weekly training sessions during fall of 2012
• Minimum two-year commitment as a Gallery Instructor, teaching one weekday morning per week after satisfactory
completion of initial training program
• Attendance at 2 GI Program meetings per year (fall and spring)
• Attendance strongly encouraged at collections training and professional development programs

We have scheduled three information sessions about the GI program. These sessions are scheduled for:
Monday, January 9, 2012, 1–3 pm
Tuesday, January 17, 2012, 10:30 am–12:30 pm
Wednesday, January 25, 2012, 7–9 pm
