Latitude, (latd.com) a forward-thinking research firm located outside of Boston, is seeking a creative, driven motion graphics designer/animator to produce a 1-1.5 minute motion graphics video highlighting findings from one of our recently published innovation studies.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, talented student who is passionate about motion graphics. This individual is someone that’s creative, likes to take ownership of the creative process (while keeping some high-level objectives in mind), and can really “dig into” a project.
This is a contract engagement (for one video) that is ideal for a candidate who is hoping to build his or her portfolio by serving a vibrant, cutting-edge company with an impressive client list in media (BBC, The New York Times, NBC, MTV Networks, Time Inc., etc.), and who may be interested in future contract work for Latitude in video production.
Project Details
Latitude is looking to articulate key findings from its latest innovation study, Robots @ School, through a short animated/motion graphics video. (For more information on the content of the study, download the summary report: http://bit.ly/robotstudy).
Latitude would provide some general direction and storyboarding ideas (which could be iterated on by the video creator). The video creator would be responsible for all aspects of the production process creating a script/storyboard, developing a design concept/aesthetic and carrying it through the video, creating all the necessary graphics/animations, selecting music, etc. (Latitude covers the cost of music rights and other content assets as needed.)
We are seeking someone who is both a creative, independent worker and who is communicative and can work with Latitude in a “client” capacity: checking in regularly with the team here, asking necessary questions, accepting constructive feedback, etc.
The chosen candidate could choose to work remotely or to come into Latitude’s offices (in Beverly, MA) on selected days.
Compensation
Monetary: we will pay a one-time fee of $500 for a video of approximately 1-1.5 minutes.
Attribution: Latitude believes in giving credit for great work. We would credit the artist in the video itself and provide a link-back to a professional Web site/online portfolio on the Vimeo page if desired.
Future engagements: Latitude is constantly expanding its “storytelling” offerings for its own initiatives and for client projects, particularly in the realm of video. We would love the opportunity to extend and build our relationship with a talented motion graphics designer who may be a good fit for any future work that arises. (We would also be willing to provide a letter of recommendation to future employers.)
