Dear Alumni:
Happy New Year to all of you! 2011 is here, and just around the corner comes 2012, the Art Institute of Boston’s Centennial year! As a member of AIB’s Centennial Committee I am writing to tell you of some exciting exhibitions for our alumni. during 2012, our Centennial year.
First we are organizing an exhibition with “Boston Windows” to showcase the wonderful work from our students in downtown Boston. Window displays in the Washington Street area will be available to our school to highlight all our departments. The storefront areas are large and can accommodate large all sizes of paintings drawings, photography installations and video projects.
Second we will be displaying student work on the WGBH Digital Mural in Allston. This digital screen is seen from the expressway as anyone drives into Boston. We are also working with Glovebox to find as many public spaces in the metropolitan are to show case your work.
Works submitted will be selected by WGBH, the City of Boston Art Committee and the AIB Exhibition Committee.
If you are interested in any of these opportunities, I would ask for 3jpgs at 72dpi resolution. Each jpeg should have your name and title. A corresponding “Image List” should include size and medium. I would also ask for a short bio including the year you graduated, your department and a few words about your current work. This can be sent directly to my email at jryan789@yahoo.com.
Because scheduling for these spaces is always done well in advance, I would need your submissions by the first week in March. Please feel free to email me with any questions, and please pass this along to any other alumni you know who may be interested in participating in our celebration.
We at the Art Institute of Boston are very exciting in showing off, across Boston, the outstanding quality of our students. We hope many of you will take advantage of these exhibition opportunities and share in our Centennial Celebration!
Wishing you the very best in this New Year,
Joanie Ryan
