A bit about Fruitlands...
Fruitlands refers to an experiment led by Bronson Alcott that took place here in 1843. Today, the name also refers to the museum complex founded by Clara Endicott Sears in 1914. The complex includes the first Shaker Museum, the Native American Gallery, an Art Gallery as well as our 210-acre landscape. The collections are linked together by Sears' vision of the past inhabitants of the beautiful Nashua River valley.
