1. Your current location?
Small town, MA
Chocolate chip granola bar.
I’m heavily inspired by old-fashioned portraiture, the art of tattooing, and the sensitive nature of people. I like to paint fictional women who represent things and feelings in my own life.
4. What do you like to do when not working?
Read, play with my cat, go for walks, spend time with my family and friends.
5. Favorite color?
Blue for life! All shades, particularly blue-ish greens.
I feel more influenced by objects and literature than by other artists. Antiques and old things are an important part of my inspiration process, as well as books. The artist who has probably had the most influence on me is John Currin. Also, the eeriness and curiosity of Michael Sowa, whom I’ve loved since age 11.
7. If you could work with another artist on a "dream project", with who and on what would it be?
I would like to go back in time and work with E.E. Cummings. We would paint in and hand write a journal/sketchbook that would be about 70 years old now.
8. Last book you read?
The last truly amazing book I read was “The Time Traveler’s Wife” by Audrey Niffenegger.
