Tak Toyoshima's Asian Americana

Dig Boston's Tak Toyoshima's upcoming show, Asian Americana, will be displaying new works featuring his comic strip character Secret Asian Man. Come see Tak's Secret Asian man standing in for iconic American figures including: Michael Jackson, Clint Eastwood, Captain America and More!

Opening Reception will be on Monday March 5th, 2012 at ZuZu bar and lounge in Central Square. The reception starts at 8pm until 10pm. The reception will be followed by a live musical performance by Viva Viva's Chris Warren at 10 pm. Check it out!!

Digital Music + Art + Seed Paper = Friends of Friends [FOF] 

"The whole idea was, you can’t really download a T-shirt," explains Leeor Brown, the founder of Friends of Friends. "And I think that people want something physical. They want a solid product that they can feel good about purchasing, especially right now with money being such an issue for everybody. I wanted to make sure it was a product that was well made, that wasn’t wasteful, and that actually had something to say." – via Good Magazine

To get a record you have to buy a t-shirt which is printed on a 100% Organic Alternative Apparel T-shirt. The hang tag of the shirt contains a a code for you to download the music files. The hang tag is printed on seed paper which can then be planted!

FOF'sf first split EP featured songs by the electronic wizard Alfred“Daedelus" Darlington and his friends Jogger, the duo of Amir Yaghmai and Jonathan Larroquette. The EP can be purchased in the form of a beautifully designed art piece by the husband and wife team Kozyndan.

Every musician invited to do a record for FOF invites a friend to split the record production and a visual artist to design the artwork for the t-shirt, so is a bunch of friends of friends!

All Nightmare Long

The other day I had watched the new Metallica video for their new single All Nightmare Long. I don't consider myself a fan of Metallica buy any stretch, but I can say I am a big fan of the animated video (shown below). I found out that All Nightmare Long was directed by Roboshobo, who has also directed animated videos for such artists as The Blood Brothers, and Mastodon. Check out the videos below... they all rock!
